Volunteer Opportunities @
Johnson High School

Live near Johnson High School? We have MANY opportunities for volunteers this 2025-26 school year!

  • If you don’t have any time to offer but want to support our program - we’re featured on the "Mr. Holland’s Opus Foundation” Adopt-A-School campaign. Once this is fully funded we will receive about 12k in brand new instrument (which we desperately need)! https://www.justgiving.com/campaign/aas-johnson-high-music

  • Seeking wind/string/percussion players to sit in with my students in our Pit Orchestra for Annie Jr. this Spring! I would love one musician on each instrument to double with my students so they have someone solid to rely on for the show.

  • Organizing sheet music used throughout the year (this is great if you want to volunteer but don’t want to interact with anybody)

  • Instrumentalists to sit in with student sections during band/orchestra classes during a school day - allowing my students to play with musicians of higher caliber.

  • Providing instrumental lessons for students during the school day.

  • Do you have skills doing small repairs? Ex: fixing wiring in a faulty electric guitar/amp/etc. These are the little price tags that really add up and take away from our instrument repair budget.

  • If you have any theatrical skills - we’d love your help for Annie Jr.! Especially concerning - set design/woodworking/costuming/sewing/acting/
    etc.

If you’re interested in any of these volunteer opportunities or have anything else you’d like to help with, please don’t hesitate to reach out!
